We received 50 lbs of apples through Harvesters during the Coronavirus lockdown. It was a shame to have it go to waste so we made our first batch of apple butter and thought filming the second batch would be helpful and fun. Enjoy the apple butter recipe and our fun video. A fun video on how to make Mike’s Apple Butter Recipe 30lbs Apples cored, sliced & peeled 4 Cups White Sugar 2 Cups Brown Sugar 4 Sticks of Cinnamon 4 Lemons zested & squeezed Place apples in roaster. Pour sugars over apples. Place cinnamon sticks on top of mixture. Sprinkle lemon zest. Slice lemons, remove seeds and squeeze lemon juice over mixture. Allow to cook for 12-13 hrs covered at 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir occasionally until brown and soft. Pour excess liquid in pot. Set aside to make apple jelly or syrup. Then mash the apples and ladle into pint canning jars. Process for 15 minutes in boiling bathwater
